welcome
No one ever followed his genius til it misled him. Though the result were bodily weakness, yet perhaps no one can say
that the consequences were to be regretted, for these were a life in conformity to higher principles. If the day and night are such
that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs, is more elastic, more starry,
more immortal,--that is your success. All nature is your congratulation, and you have cause momentarily to bless yourself. The
greatest gains and values are farthest from being appreciated. We easily come to doubt if they exist. We soon forget them.
They are the highest reality....the true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints
of morning or evening. It is a little star-dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.
--Henry David Thoreau

There are two words to describe me: 'atheistic' and 'cynical'.
Anything else, you'll have to find out by yourself.
Don't like it, sue me.
And that's the awful truth.

Yesterday was so stupid.
Talk about lousy judges. Everything they said in their criteria was so obviously leaning towards our side, and yet we didn't win.
The Prop refused to accept Iran as an example, and thus had absolutely NO evidence to substantiate their case. Iran is the ONLY country in the world to have legalized organ sale. The only statistic they mentioned was about blood donation, which has no relation to the motion--the motion was about ORGAN sale.
Also, their entire policy relied solely on the government and the hope that the economy will be stable. Are they clairvoyant or something? How the hell would you ever know if your economy will not flounder in the long run? The govt. will ensure everyone has a health check-up, the govt. will subsidize everything for the poor, the govt. will see the seller through every step of the way. The govt. is going to hold your hand while you make the worst decision of your life.
But what if the govt. fails?
Their rebuttal: the people will just re-elect another one.
WTF?
Talk about assertions! If there every was a govt. like that, then I'm migrating to that country without a moment's doubt.
We we so pissed and like dumbfounded with the judges' decision that we didn't even bother to ask for their opinions. The judge was 17 years old, that means he only has 2 more years of experience as compared to us, so what's there to listen to?
Both Mr M. and our coach agreed that it was a stupid call, and frankly, we all agree. We aren't sad or anything. We are in a mixture of anger and indifference and contentment. We did friggin' well, OK, everyone saw that, so actually, we did win.
YOU KNOW WHAT, I TELL YOU WE WON. WE BEAT THEIR ASSES.
