Cyn and I went to Plaza Sing today to watch Lars and The Real Girl. The movie was G-R-E-A-T! I love Ryan Gosling, he's a superb actor, and he's also a method actor, which is kinda cool. I liked him better in The Notebook though, mostly because Nicholas Sparks wrote the book and because Rachel Mcadams acted in it too. Anyway, it's about this guy, who's kinda a loner, and feels pain when someone touches him... no idea why though. Ryan Gosling plays this guy. Anyway, he orders this mannequin (okay it's not really a mannequin, it's something that sounds a whole lot worse so I won't tell you), who's name is Bianca by the way. Bianca is wheelchair-bound and doesn't talk much, go figure. He falls in love with Bianca so his family starts thinking his crazy. They send him to see the doctor by convincing him that Bianca's sick, and there the doctor tells him that Bianca has low blood pressure (more like no blood pressure) and that she need to come back every week. What Ryan Gosling doesn't know is that the doctor is actually treating him. In the end, Ryan Gosling gets all delusional and thinks that Bianca is dying, and she 'dies' soon after. She even had a funeral... how 'bout that? Then he kinda hooks up with a real girl (she sings in the church he goes to), good for him! And there you go, another happy ending (or in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith... Another happy landing)!
Here's a neat country twang song, and the lyrics are really funny.
I got a little change in my pocket Goin ching-a-ling-a-ling Wanna call you on the telephone, baby Give you a ring But each time we talk I get the same old thing Always, "No huggee, no kissee Until I get a wedding ring." Oh, my honey, my baby Don't put my love upon no shelf She said, "Don't hand me no lines And keep your hands to yourself.
"B-b-baby, baby, baby Why you treat me this way? You know I'm still your loverboy I still feel the same way Thats when she told me a story About free milk and a cow She said, "No huggee, no kissee Until I get a wedding vow." Oh, my honey, my baby Don't put my love upon no shelf She said, "Don't hand me no lines And keep your hands to yourself."
See I wanted her real bad And I was about to give in Thats when she started talking about true love Started talking about sin I said, "Honey, I'll live with you for the rest of my life. "She said, "No huggee, no kissee Until you make me a wife. "Oh, my honey, my baby Don't put my love upon no shelf She said, "Don't hand me no lines And keep your hands to yourself."
